I got into tattooing through the punk rock and hardcore scene when I was really young. I got my first tattoo when I was way under age and was hooked from then on. I searched for a way into the business for about 3 years until I finally got a break.

I began an apprenticeship with Pennsylvanias own Tom Johnson in 1995. Learning from him was the best opportunity I could hope for. He helped me to formulate my outlook on the art of tattooing as well as the politics of the business. Unfortunately things went sour at the shop and we both ended up leaving. I moved around the Delaware Pennsylvania area for the next couple of years, and after a short stint in Philadelphia I was ready for a change.

I contacted Joe Boyle who owned Silver City and told him of my plans, and the next thing I knew I was on my way to Washington. Ive been here for about the last 6 years and things are great. People here are open to suggestion and seem to enjoy the work that I do. The pace is slower than Philly but still busy enough to keep me going.
